Christer ”Adrian” Johansson, born 1947, is an established Swedish Artist who (among other creative acts of life) paints oil on canvas.
From his studio in pastoral Österlen (one of the leading art communities in Sweden, often called ”The Provence” and/or ”Tuscany” of Southern Sweden) he creates rich explosions of abstract color that call out to the beholder to ”See” beyond seeing. His ”artistic mission” is to provoke ”seeing” through the medium of color, and his work is a ”call” (invitation) to the one who is willing to meet him on a common ground of feeling and experience deep within and beyond the color.
Since the early 1960s, Adrian has been developing his art in some of the leading-edge art circles of Sweden. First in the Bohemian Art Schools of Malmö and then in the late sixties, at the prestigious University College of Arts Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm.
He has been highlighted thoughout the years in dozens of exhibitions around Sweden, including some of the most posh galleries and museums, such as Liljevalchs In Stockholm, and many of the Manor House Castle Exhibitions in Scania (Skåne) Southern Sweden.
Each year at Easter Adrian shows his new work at the hip ”Hagestad School Group” in Southern Sweden, where art dealers and gallery owners flock to discover new frontiers in art. Art collectors have said that ”collecting Adrian’s art is a wise investment for the future.
He is a member of KRO (The National Association of Artists in Sweden) and the Scania (Skåne’s) Artists Club.
